Multiple auth methods including marcus's suggestion and Kerberos for win 2008 would provide a flexible options for public, corporate guest and corporate users. The module based design provides a great way to enable this to be added as a component in is own right. BYOD from well known corporate controller based wireless vendors can increase the cost of the wireless network by a large sum. This would very much fill a gap in regards to a unit that can provide Wifi hotspot, firewall and the power of the Guardian content filtered in a single hardware unit / VM.
