  2. Alert for when the external disconnects

User would like his Smoothwall to email him when his external connection has gone down.
For most customers, they wouldn't receive this alert until the connection came back up but for the customer in question, they have an internal exchange server which the Smoothwall Alerting system can send its alerts to while the external connection is offline.

  6. Allow Replication of Networking settings

User would like to replicate out the Networking > Outgoing > Policies and Ports section, at current, there is no safe way of doing this, it will either overwrite the current settings there or worse, you lose your network interfaces as its replicated the masters mac addresses to the child nodes.
Customer in question would like to have a set of outgoing policies rolled out to the child nodes in the same way that we can roll out individual guardian user defined categories.

  7. address object manager page -

    1. This page needs to stop using thickboxes for adding new objects. Clicking in the area around the object cancels out all the entries i've added meaning i need to input all the addresses again!
    2. allow us to add ip addresses via a basic text editor like on the guardian pages! Adding IP addresses one by one is so time consuming! For example, Office365 IP addresses!!!
    Thank You :)

  8. Allow DNS Proxy on the Smoothwall to respond with the correct IP for multiple networks and nics

Customers Scenario - They have 4 networks, 3 of them using the Smoothwalls DHCP and DNS Server, they want to use a real ssl certificate, to do this, the Smoothwall needs to be able to load the SSL Login page as FQDN.
DNS Proxy currently doesn't respond its own hostname because when it did, it responded as 127.0.0.1 (which is correct).
User would like the DNS Proxy to respond on each individual VLAN with the correct IP for that network for the Smoothwalls FQDN...

    For example
    Smoothwall networks are 10.0.1.0/24 10.0.2.0/24 192.168.1.0/24 and 172.16.0.0/16
DNS Proxy enabled on 3 of…

  9. Allow a different upstream proxy for https traffic

Allow a different upstream proxy for all https traffic compared to the first upstream for http only traffic.

Customer in question doesn't have an upstream proxy for http traffic but port 443 is blocked and they need to specify an upstream for https traffic

  11. When creating SWURL user accounts, keep creator email address private

    Issue raised by customer:
"Is it possible to configure SWURL not to send out the email address of the person who has created the user account?

I am creating a large amount of users, a couple of hundred by the time I am finished, and I would prefer for them not to have my email address for data protection issues."

  12. Update Mobile Guardian via the smoothwall which it is connected to

When there is an available update for Mobile Guardian on windows machines, the smoothwall which the mobile guardian client is connected to, should have an option to roll out the update to the machine silently and update it remotely.
The user should be able to tick a few clients and roll out the new update when it specifies that an update is available (e.g. 1.3.0 when (and if) it is released).

  13. Allow monitoring/central management detect when the guardian/proxy is unable to pass trafic

Allow monitoring/central management detect when the guardian/proxy is unable to pass traffic.

This is useful in a central managed setup when a child node is unable to pass traffic for what ever reason.

E.g. web filter and web proxy is up, but clients are getting errors could back from filtering service.

e.g. unable to route out of net connection
    DNS is not working
Auth is failing (to a tested authenticated request)
Backing of new connections due to ram limit reached.

  14. Support for Captive Auto-Login on Apple Devices

Support for the built in Captive Auto-Login program on Apple Devices, when connecting to a wireless network, the apple device tries to figure out if it is connected to the internet by trying to resolve "http://www.apple.com/library/test/success.html", if it is not successful then it asks the user to log in to the Wireless network.
At current, this auto-login prompt doesn't come up and to authenticate with the wireless network through a smoothwall, you need to open your browser and log into the SSL Login Page.

  15. Internal/External Primary and Secondary DNS with resiliance

Query from customer: "My question to smoothwall is under the bonnet can we set dns to use twin internal primary dns ip's and twin external dns ip's ? to bring back the resilience."

In essence, a Primary Primary / Primary Secondary and Secondary Primary / Secondary Secondary DNS server setup
