  1. Allow a reboot to be scheduled on a regular basis

Allow the users to schedule a reboot when they want as far in the future as they want.

  2. Hide preset policy folder settings

When updating a policy folder with the Who, What and When already configured (for instance), why not hide the Who What and When option boxes and save us some scrolling?

  3. New line logs (newer timestamp) should be placed in the top of the list

The new line logs (with the newer timestamp) show be placed in the top of the list, because we should see the new lines AND the graphic at the same time, avoiding scrolling and missing info.

  5. Email a student if they do something that would appear on the daily safeguarding email

It would be good if Smoothwall could email a student if they do something that would appear on the daily safeguarding email?

  6. Making the block page for adverts e.g. googleadservices.com etc. more clear to end users

It would be handy if there was a way of making the advert blocked message (for googleadservices.com etc) appear more obvious i.e. change the CSS of the resultant page to make the text bold, red in colour and bigger. As it stands it leads to people blaming our system i.e. network\browser\Smoothwall because its almost like a blank screen (with a tiny 'Advert blocked' message in gray writing in the top left of the page - this is very easy to miss and misconstrue as the page not loading. This will only get worse on mobile devices with smaller screens, which…

  7. Filter IDS logs to show Priority 1

Ability to filter IDS logs to show Priority 1.
Also make the IDS log searchable.
Both can be achieved by export, but it would be nice to be able to do it within the web interface.

  9. SSL VPN Road Warrior - filter by geo location

We get incessant SSL road warrior connection attempts from hostile IP addresses. I can limit by groups and can block IP's manually via firewall rule, but that's a rough way to cut down on this traffic. The VPN control panel is therefore drowning in "unfinished" road warrior connections. I'd love it if there was a geo location way to filter traffic in general, but more specifically for SSL VPN. Especially useful for an SMB like us who only have employees in the U.S. and can safely block SSL VPN attempts from all other countries

  13. Have a note field against the ip or hostname

Have a note field against the ip or hostname in locations as I have a large bypass list for devices that needs less filtering so a note field would let me keep track of what each device was

  14. Searching by IP

The realtime web filter report needs to be able to differentiate between and IP such as 10.41.145.7 and 10.41.145.71 (72, 73, 74 etc).

  15. "Realtime Reporting" is next to useless...

It is now 8:44 and I see nothing after 8:33. That is my biggest issue with this filter. This is going to keep us from renewing in the future. All reporting is just not usefull.

  17. Advanced option in Web filter report to show Content modifications applied

Would be really useful to have an option in the Realtime Web filter logs to show which content modifications have been applied. The current policy tester does this but is insufficient as it only applies to a single test url and doesn't work if website requires a login first.

  18. Details

Instead of having individual drop down buttons for each user report in safeguarding - can we have a reveal all button :)

  19. Scroll realtime web filter

Would be great if when viewing the realtime web filter, a scrollbar be present, or that the scrolling would automatically stop when the user hovers a mouse over a line so we could quickly read & take stock of the information, then when the mouse moves away from pane, the scrolling continues.

  20. Support for packet capture within the user interface

It would be extremely useful to be able to perform a packet capture (.pcap / tcpdump) from the Smoothwall web interface for the purposes of troubleshooting. Presumably this is simply achieved if you have root access and can log in over SSH, but in environments where this is not available, there is no way currently to perform a packet capture and a very useful troubleshooting option is therefore not possible.
