Have a field for notes, so that we can identify what the IP address that has and exception is and why it is an exception..19 votes
Could we have a couple of extra agents that we can query please on a per node basis? Some of these may already exist but I haven't found them yet.
I would like to be able to monitor-
Number of logged on users
Count of core services
Count of optional services
Either web requests or mean requests/min
Median service time
Number of hits/blocks- the data in the graph on the logs >> web filter page (won't be as good but will show broad overview.)10 votes
User would like to replicate out the Networking > Outgoing > Policies and Ports section, at current, there is no safe way of doing this, it will either overwrite the current settings there or worse, you lose your network interfaces as its replicated the masters mac addresses to the child nodes.
Customer in question would like to have a set of outgoing policies rolled out to the child nodes in the same way that we can roll out individual guardian user defined categories.0 votes
Allow Smoothwall to be monitored by a NAGIOS server. This would involve installing and supporting the NRPE software with specific NAGIOS plugins for Smoothwall.18 votes
In my current setup, we have a Smoothwall and a separate Web Filter (SWG)...If I add an Exemption from the web interface of the Firewall and restart the proxy, I still have to log in to the Web Filter and restart the proxy there.
Ideally, when I click the 'Restart Proxy' link, it should restart the proxy both on the Firewall *and* the Web Filter!2 votes
Replication of Auth- Auth Settings is fine, however this does not help in a mixed environment as it replicates the Authentication method i.e. LDAP or NTLM, not just the group mappings.
Solution is that we need to septate the group relationships and the Authentication settings.6 votes
In the new Central management system, a customer has observed that where they are operating a 'managed service' for their client sites they would like to see an alerting ability on the Parent node that emails the team when a child node fails. They would like to configure alerts for available updates, failed services, high loads, connection failures, inability of the parent node to contact child node etc.7 votes
Currently hardware fail-over requires a full failure of the primary system and to become unavailable on the heartbeat interface for it to switch over to the slave. This can mean a system with a failed filtering service or network interface will be left running instead of switching to the fail-over system.
Ideally the fail-over system could be expanded to include monitoring enabled critical services for failure (Eg Guardian, VPN etc) and also network interfaces for loss of connectivity.31 votes
Relating to feature request #2085, if the master of a cluster could be configured as an ntp server and reference it's local time, or a specified internal server instead of defaulting to an external ntp server to give the ability for a cluster to stay in time sync with each other even if an external ntp server can't be reached.1 vote
